Pranayama

breathing and more

Pranayama is a series of breathing techniques which helps us to be more conscious about our own breath.

Prana means vital energy of the life force. It is the force which exists in all things, whether animate or inanimate. Yama means control and is used to denote various rules or codes of conduct. Therefore “pranayama” means controlling the vital force through breathing.

Pranayma has a strong impact on our nervous system and emotions and releases the body from the oxygen.

During our classes we introduce different pranayama (and shatkarma) exercises to get you high (not only but also) from deep breathing. One of the core pranayama in our practice is the ujjayi breath. It produces the so-called ocean sound when you contract your vocal chords. It helps to heat your body from inside and to calm the mind.
